WHAT IS Family Home Evening?

WHAT IS FAMILY HOME EVENING??

Members of my church, The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, have set aside one night a week to be devoted to spending time together as a family. Typically this is Monday night. This means that Monday nights are reserved for Family Time. As a family we spend time together having lessons, playing games, or doing activities. Each Family Home Evening usually starts and ends with a prayer. Many families sing a song, we are not the best singers but even we try to include a song some of the time. And the kids' favorite part of Family Night is a treat after the closing prayer.

This is a great time to interact as a family and actually talk to each other without TV, phones, gaming systems, music devices or any other technology toys interupting.

WHICH FAMILY IS IT? #1

Which family is it? Instructions...
Read or show only one clue at a time. After the first clue ask the group if they know which family it is from the scriptures. If they can't guess the family yet give them another clue, continue one clue at a time until they know which family it is.

Which family is it?
#1 Family (Easy)

Hints
1. This is a Lamanite family.
2. They had many servants.
3. They had a servant who was a Nephite.
4. This servant defended the property of his master.
5. This servant taught the husband the gospel.
6. This husband and father believed what had been taught and fell to the earth - he was in the power of God for 3 days.
7. The wife called the Nephite servant in and asked him if her husband was dead. The servant said he was alive. She believed him.
8. The husband rose the next day and told his wife about Christ. She believed, they were both overpowered with the spirit They fell to the earth and the Nephite servant too.
9. The wife was awakened by her servant, Abish - who already believed in Christ.

If awarding points you could give extra for naming the servant who was a missionary. His name is one of the easiest to guess. But you could add more questions about Abish and why she already believed about Christ and/or Lamoni's dad wanting to kill him before he too was converted.
