Hints
1. The father in this family was a good man - and a righteous king like his father before him.
2. This family had 4 sons. These sons did not belong to the church - they did not believe. Many prayed for them to believe.
3. One day the sons were with their friend, Alma the younger, when an angel came.
4. The sons believed, repented, and started to share the gospel.
5. All 4 sons were great missionaries and refused to become king.
6. All the sons went on a mission to the Lamanites for 14 years.
7. Many Lamanites were converted.
8. The sons taught with power and authority because they studied their scriptures, fasted and prayed.
9. The father was a friend of the leader of the church, Alma.
I wanted to share some of the activities, games, and ideas that have worked for me as I have been raising my 6 children and working with children in my church. Hopefully some of the ideas in this blog will help you teach a gospel principle or help to inspire you with your own ideas to help your children Grow in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
WHAT IS Family Home Evening?
WHAT IS FAMILY HOME EVENING??
Members of my church, The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, have set aside one night a week to be devoted to spending time together as a family. Typically this is Monday night. This means that Monday nights are reserved for Family Time. As a family we spend time together having lessons, playing games, or doing activities. Each Family Home Evening usually starts and ends with a prayer. Many families sing a song, we are not the best singers but even we try to include a song some of the time. And the kids' favorite part of Family Night is a treat after the closing prayer.
This is a great time to interact as a family and actually talk to each other without TV, phones, gaming systems, music devices or any other technology toys interupting.
